Friday
29th of May 2015 recorded another landmark and remarkable event in the history
of our nation; Nigeria. The tone of President Buhari’s inaugural speech “Today marks a triumph for Nigeria and an occasion to celebrate her freedom and cherish her democracy” created an atmosphere full of glamour, it seem as if another messiah cometh
riding on a colt entering the Jerusalem of Abuja.
Nigerians
after several year of bad leadership and era of waste, the era where stealing
and corruption aren't same, the era of national pardon on embezzlement of public funds, era of stomach infrastructures and many public embarrassment. Finally
the nation gained transformation into a new era of dignity and discipline;
promising to restructure the public face of our dear nation Nigeria.
The
truth here is that the expectations of the citizenry is very high, while some Nigerians
look forward to a magical and miracles performing Buhari. Yet some yearns for transformational leadership that will judiciously
deploy the resources of the land and also give in return the dividend of democracy
to the common people.
These expectations aren't bad, but the question is that could Buhari provide answers to all these needs or we should hope for
another messiah as it was asked by the Jews?
Time
passes but realities are static and the truth will never change. As we welcome in
the new government, the issue is that no matter how hard this new government works,
there are some things that will not change and there are some that the
manifestation of this administration will accelerate their growth.
The
best change everyone should all yarn for now is a better habitation space for humanity;
should President Buhari be the direction
we should only focus on or are there any other things that are required of us
as an individual?
As
we look forward to this new dispensation, Nigerian youths need to be conscious of
their environment and the changing global space. The progress in research,
science and technology is changing the world to the imaginary.
Several
changes are coming to play around us and in our world, our education system,
economic system, health care system, security system, communication and service
system are fast becoming imaginary with science and technological innovations. Patients
can now meet their doctor on their cellphone; workers can now serve companies
far away from their locations and get paid. Business transaction could be
carried out without exchange of cash; students now have access to their teachers
and global library via online videos while many worshipers now connect with
their churches via live streaming.
As
a youth, you must change your paradigm and get preparing; thinking of meeting
up with the imaginary world. You must start looking to position your work and career
imaginary. You must start engaging with the tools of the imaginary world most especially
the internet space and much more your PVMPD must be changed. They are
Your perception: this is the way you
see things
Your values: this is what you
believe matter most
Your mindset: this is the way you
handle your life and resources
Your priority: this is the thing
that is best of importance in the now
Your disposition: this is the way
you do that which you are doing now
There
is no doubt if all the elements mentioned above are called to check, youths all
round the world will live Happily and enjoy the best of time always.
